不幸にも　童がひとり
若く亡くしたその命

wakaku nakushita sono inochi

It was unfortunate, but a child
Lost their life.

襲い来る　赤銅の獣
怯え泣くより他になく

osoi kitaru shakudou no kemono
obie naku yori hoka ni naku

The copper-coloured beast came and attacked.
They could do nothing but cry in fear.

幸いは　居合わせた童
命を拾うもう一方

saiwai wa iawaseta warawa
inochi wo hirou mou hitori

Fortunately, another child who happened to be present
Narrowly escaped death.

その獣　餌食に飽いたか　何処かへと消えたとさ

sono kemono ejiki ni aita ka dokoka he to kieta to sa

Was the beast satiated by its prey? It disappeared somewhere…
