永啼鳥が、啼いている。夜を背負って、哭いている。

naganakidori ga, naite iru. yoru wo seotte, naite iru.
nagasu namida ga, umi to nari. itsuka tsuki wo terashi dasu.
The songbird of eternity sings. She weeps, burdened with the night.
Her tears form an ocean. Someday, it will illuminate the moon.
ぽつり、また、ぽつりと、孤独な足音。
伝わらぬ歴史の間隙に追い遺られ。
potsuri, mata, potsuri to, kodoku na ashioto.
tsutawaranu rekishi no kangeki ni oi yarare.
My lonely footsteps echo, one by one.
I was driven away to a gap in a forgotten history.
私を知るものなど、何処にもいない。
watashi wo shiru mono nado, doko ni mo inai.
Nobody, anywhere, knows of me.
やがて人は、うつろい、その座ばかりが。
変わらずにいたとて、それは永遠と呼ぶか。
yagate hito wa, utsuroi, sono za bakari ga.
kawarazu ni ita tote, sore wa eien to yobu ka.
It is the lot of humans to eventually fade away,
Though I lived without changing. Can that be called being ‘eternal?’
死ぬことさえ出来ない、私を置いて。
shinu koto sae dekinai, watashi wo oite.
I cannot even die. Leave me be.
胸の内に、尚。
留まり続けている思いは
「憎しみ」以外の名を以って
呼ぶことはないと。
mune no uchi ni, nao.
todomari tsudzukete iru omoi wa
“nikushimi” igai no na wo motte
yobu koto wa nai to.
I believe that the feelings
That continue to rest in my heart
Cannot be known by any other name
Than ‘hatred.’
―刻んだ。確かに深く。その傷痕に、滴る命。
kizanda. tashika ni fukaku. sono kizuato ni, shitataru inochi.
-I cut you. Deeply. Life trickles into your scar…
紅く、おぞましくも。
それでも、何より、禍々しい。
akaku, ozomashiku mo.
sore demo, nani yori, utsukushii.
It is crimson and repulsive,
Yet, it is more sinister, more beautiful than anything else.
永遠の意味を問いながら。歪な偽物に手を染めて。
eien no imi wo toi nagara. ibitsu na nisemono ni te wo somete.
Whilst questioning the meaning of eternity, I played my part in that distorted forgery.
今も、憎きかぐや姫！「永遠」に忘れはしない。
ima mo, nikuki kaguya hime! “eien” ni wasure wa shinai.
O, Princess Kaguya, who I still hate even now! I shall not forget you for ‘eternity.’
永啼鳥が、泣いている。明けるに夜はまだ永く。
naganakidori ga, naiteiru. akeru ni yo wa mada nagaku.
The songbirds of eternity are weeping. The night is still long…
そっと、ただ、そっと。穢れないように。
その存在、宛ら、飾られた人形。
sotto, tada, sotto. kegarenai you ni.
sono inochi, sanagara, kazareta ningyou.
Softly, softly, so I will not be defiled.
My existence was like that of an ornamental doll.
私を充たすものなど、何処にもいない。
watashi wo mitasu mono nado, doko ni mo inai.
Nobody, anywhere, will satisfy me.
命の価値を求めて、探したとしても。
それはずっと死の、先。永遠に届かぬ場所。
inochi no kachi wo motomete, sagashita to shitemo.
sore wa zutto shi no, saki. eien ni todokanu basho.
Though I sought value in life,
It lay beyond death: a place eternity cannot reach.
叶わぬなら、幾千もの夜は越えまい。
kanawanu nara, ikusen mono yoru wa koe mai.
If an answer will not come, then I shall not surmount these countless nights.
響く鬨の声。願望と許容とを綯い交ぜに
命ずるべくは「永遠に、この身、殺め続けよ」と。
hibiku toki no koe. negai to yurushi to wo naimaze ni
meizuru beku wa “towa ni, kono mi, ayame tsudzuke yo” to.
The war cries resound. Amidst wishes and forgiveness,
An inevitable order: “Continue to kill me, for eternity!”
―刻んだ。何より深く。その傷痕に、燻る魂。
kizanda. nani yori fukaku. sono kizuato ni, kusuburu inochi.
-I wounded you. Deeper than anything else. Life – a soul – smoulders in that scar.
この身に受けた咎。その身同じくして、生きるがいい。
kono mi ni uketa toga. sono mi onajiku shite, ikiru ga ii.
My body harbours a grave sin. Make your body like mine, and live on!
さぁ、おいで。と笑いかけよう。あの時のように真っ直ぐに。
saa, oide. to warai kakeyou. ano toki no you ni massugu ni.
“Now, come!” I smile at you. Like that time, straight at you.
鳥よ、穢れた紅子よ！
「永遠」に遊びましょうね。
tori yo, kegareta kureko yo!
“eien” ni asobimashou ne.
O, bird! O, defiled crimson child!
Let us play for ‘eternity.’
―ああ、よくぞこの手に、帰ってきた。わが鳥よ！
aa, yoku zo kono te ni, kaette kita. waga tori yo!
-Aah! How skilfully you return to my hand, my bird!
永啼鳥が、啼いている。
死も生けよと、叫いている。
naganakidori ga, naite iru.
shi mo ike yo to, wameite iru.
The songbird of eternity is singing.
“Even death is life,” she cries.
―ああ、よくもわが前に、あらわれた。憎きかぐや姫！
aa, yoku mo waga mae ni, arawareta. nikuki kaguya hime!
-Aah! How could you appear before me, Princess Kaguya? I loathe you!
永啼鳥が、哭いている。
背負う夜のみが、尚、深く。
naganakidori ga, naite iru.
seou yoru no mi ga, nao, fukaku.
The songbirds of eternity are weeping.
Only the nights they have been burdened with are still intense.
―刻んだ。誰より深く。
その咎深き、永遠の意味。
kizanda. dare yori fukaku.
sono toga bukaki, eien no imi.
-I wounded you. Deeper than anyone else.
That grave sin is the meaning of eternity.
そんなに知りたいなら、
命の限りに殺してやる！
sonna ni shiritai nara,
inochi no kagiri ni oshiete yaru!
If you want to know so badly,
Then I shall tell kill you to the limits of my life!
お前がただただ愛しくて。
愛したいほど愛しくて。
omae ga tada tada kanashikute.
koroshitai hodo nikurashikute.
You are still so dear to me sorrowful.
You’re so dear to me I want to make love to you!
I hate you so much I want to kill you!

The songbirds of eternity were singing.
They wept, burdened with the night.
夜が明けた暁には。
「永遠」を見つけられれば…
yoru ga aketa akatsuki ni wa.
“eien” wo mitsukerarereba…
And if, in the dawn,
They can find ‘eternity,’ then…
