Скорее, шедевр изобретательности, чем вдохновения, "Mr. Kite" была написана Джоном Ленноном. Он превратил текст старой цирковой афиши в стихи, спел их под аккомпанемент органа - подобные мелодии обычно звучат в балаганах-и, разрезав полученную пленку с записью на части, подбросил их в воздух и затем вновь склеил. Полученный таким образом жутковатый звук доминирует в инструментальных частях композиции. Первое время Леннон не принимал всерьез собственное сочинение, что вполне логично, если вспомнить процесс его создания.
